Graduating with Distinction in Geology
The Geology Department has a cherished tradition of honoring a handful of graduating students each year by awarding them “distinction in geology.” We bestowed this award upon those students who have gone above and beyond with regards to the following categories: dedicated service to the department, active participation in the Geology Club/community events, engagement in research within the department, and valuable assistance during departmental field trips. In essence, graduating with distinction in Geology signifies a remarkable commitment and contribution to the SSU Geology Department community throughout one's tenure at SSU. To commemorate this achievement, recipients are presented with a personalized rock hammer, engraved with their name, as a symbol of their accomplishment.
