Graduation

The SSU Office of the Registrar maintains a thorough website that outlines the formal steps and filing dates to follow when applying for graduation. The graduation application process consists of 3 simple steps and is completed online at MySSU. Here is a helpful shortcut to their website.  https://registrar.sonoma.edu/graduation

Additional information for students graduating with a B.S. in Geology

If you are attending Summer Field Camp (aka GEOL 427: Advanced Field Geology), your Expected Graduation Term will be the summer of your graduation year. You must select summer because this is when you will have finished all your graduation requirements, including successfully completing summer field and having your credits transferred to SSU.

Transferring Summer Field credits to SSU

Each student must take active steps to transfer their summer field credits to SSU to fulfill our GEOL 427: Advanced Field Geology requirement. 1) Order transcripts from your Summer Field course to be sent to SSU. 2) Wait for your transcripts to be received and processed by SSU. 3) When your transcripts have been processed, send an email to your major advisor (this is likely Matty) and they will complete an ARR Update Form. When the ARR Update Form is completed, the graduation process is complete. It is very important that you do this in a timely manner in order to guarantee a Summer graduation date. Delays in the process could push your graduation date to the Fall semester.
