The department has all of the equipment necessary to create petrographic thin sections. We have 3 slab saws (a 12" tile saw, a 16" oil slab saw, and a 16" water slab saw), and Ingram thin section cut off saw, an Ingram thin section grinder, and steel plates for polishing.
