My name is Nicole Myers. At Sonoma State I teach in the Geology Department and the inMotion Program in the Rec Center.
About
I love teaching others about the Earth, and I am equally passionate about teaching fitness classes. I teach Earth Sciences at Sonoma State Univeristy and College of Marin, and I teach Pilates and Yoga based classes at several fitness studios. I strive to help others appreciate planet Earth and their own body. In my free time I hike, travel, make natural stone jewelry, and learn as much as I can about planet Earth.
Biography
I grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado where I learned to love nature at an early age. I began my first rock collection when I was 5 years old, and decided I was going to be a Geologist. My family moved to Santa Rosa, CA a few years later, and after my first visit to Lassen Volcanic National Park at age 10 I decided I was going to be a Volcanologist. I pursued my passion in college, where I learned that I love teaching. For the last 12 years I have taught geology, paleontology, meteorology, climatology, oceanography, environmental, astronomy classes, science of movement classes.
